Coming up with a list of the best hotels in the Philippines can be difficult since practically every individual has his or her own characteristics that they look for in their search for a temporary abode while traveling.
In most cases, they prefer their hotels to be accessible to key tourist spots, has complete and excellent facilities and great service from the staff.
Based on user reviews and blogger experiences, here is our list of what we consider to be the 10 best hotels in the Philippines…
1 Garden Way, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Manila, 1650 Philippines
Our very experience with Edsa Shangri-la, Manila was during a wedding. The reception was held in one of their ballrooms and, needless to say, I truly enjoyed the various dishes that they served then.
A travel conference gave us the opportunity to stay for a few days at the hotel itself. Not only were we treated to impeccable service from the staff, we got to enjoy many of the hotel’s facilities, including their full service spa, health club and outdoor pool.
It is also accessible to SM Megamall, Shangri-La Mall, Asian Development Bank Headquarters and Robinson’s Galleria. Of course, still loved the food!
1 Raffles Drive, Ayala Center, Makati, Manila, 1224 Philippines
Raffles Makati is a great hotel for those who are looking for a transient point before embarking to other places in the Philippines. The reason for this is that the hotel is conveniently located near the airport, although thankfully you don’t really hear the noise from the planes flying to and from it.
A family-friendly hotel, it boasts of in-room childcare, allowing you to check out the other amenities such as their restaurants, bars and lounges, outdoor pool, health club and full-service spa.
It is also accessible to the Ayala Museum, Ayala Center, Glorietta Mall, and SM Makati. If you have a flight for someplace else in the country, or you are heading home, the hotel also offers an airport shuttle.
Located right in the heart of the Makati Central Business District, The Peninsula Manila has been a long time favorite among businessmen both in the country and abroad. It is not uncommon to see a businessman and his associates conducting business at the hotel’s lobby while drinking coffee or tea.
There are also 4 restaurants, full service spa, business center, and in-room child care. The hotel is accessible to Ayala Center, Glorietta Mall, SM Makati, and the Makati Stock Exchange.
Ayala Street and Makati Avenue, Makati, Manila 1200 Philippines
Much like its sister hotel in Mandaluyong, Makati Shangri-La Hotel offers the same high class amenities that I’ve come to enjoy. It has also recently upgraded their Horizon Club rooms, which also provides personalized services. It is accessible to Ayala Center, Glorietta Mall, Ayala Museum, and SM Makati. Thankfully, the food is just as great!
Aseana Avenue corner Roxas Boulevard, Entertainment City, Parañaque 1701, Manila, Philippines
When Academy Award winning actor Robert De Niro announced that he and his associates will be opening a Nobu Hotel in Manila, everyone was looking forward to a stay in world-renowned luxury hotel brand.
Located in the luxurious City of Dreams, Nobu Hotel is a great place to relax and unwind, boasting of their trademark Nobu Spa, a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art Nobu Fitness Center, complete with strength training and cardio equipment from Life Fitness.
One Rizal Park, Manila, Philippines, 0913
The one hotel that is truly an icon in Philippine history is The Manila Hotel. It is the oldest hotel in the country, having been built in 1909. Over a hundred years old, the hotel continues to keep up with the times.
Their four restaurants – Café Ilang Ilang, Champagne Room, Mabuhay Palace, and Cowrie Grill – continue to be top favorites. Businessmen and travelers alike frequently avail of the stellar services at the MacArthur Club Lounge and Pool and Garden. It is now also home to a health club and a spa and wellness center.
Ma Luisa Entrance Road | One Paseo Compound, Banilad, Cebu City 6000, Philippines
Outside of Metro Manila, The Henry Hotel Cebu has been a favorite among travelers because of its quirky pop interiors. In fact, it is so pretty that the hotel is arguably one of the most photographed and Instagrammed in the country.
Thankfully, it is a non-smoking hotel, so you don’t have to worry about encountering smoking guests and their smelly cigarettes. It also has a wheelchair access for PWDs. Hands down though, what makes The Henry Hotel great is its food, particularly its German cuisine.
82 Scout Castor, Bgy. Laging Handa, Quezon City, 1100 Philippines
It is with a shamed face admission that most Pinoys thought of hotels to be situated primarily in Manila and Makati. But there are surprisingly great hotels within Quezon City as well.
Foremost among them is the Meranti Hotel. It is a reasonably priced hotel boasting of an outdoor pool, restaurant, and business center. For those who need to get to the airport, the hotel also offers an airport shuttle.
It is particularly accessible to Smart Araneta Coliseum, Fisher Mall and St. Luke’s Medical Center (especially for travelers who will be seeking medical consultation in this leading health institution).
Asian Highway 26 J.P. Laurel Ave., Davao City, Mindanao 8000, Philippines
When traveling to Davao in Mindanao, one of the best hotels to stay in is Park Inn by Radisson Davao. Aside from having a great pool and a fine restaurant (the local cuisine at RGB Bar & Grill is one of the best!), their WiFi is comparable to none.
Even while I was staying in Metro Manila hotels, the WiFi speed at Park Inn is truly fast, best of all, free. It also boasts of a fitness center with a gym/workout room. It is situated right next to SM Lanang Premier and the SMX Convention Center.
28th Street corner 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Manila 1634 Philippines
Situated in the heart of the Fort, Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila has emerged as one of the more popular hotels in the Philippines today. Because of its close proximity to St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City, it has become a favorite stopover for individuals who will be seeking medical consultation at the hospital.
It also helps that the hotel itself is completely smoke free. The hotel also boasts of a restaurant and pool bar, outdoor pool, fitness center, child care, and an airport center. Those who love to shop can easily access the shops at Market Market and Serendra.
