You said you quit traveling or was it blogging after 2 years? Any particular reason? How did you come up with Pinoy Travel Freak?

It was blogging. I didn’t have time to maintain my personal blog when I moved to Manila from Iloilo. I wanted a blog name that’s easily recognizable as a blog owned by a Pinoy and about traveling.

45 stunning philippine beaches

Any favorite or most memorable post you’ve published so far? What makes it the best? What’s the one with most interaction/visits?

I believe it’s my list of 45 Stunning Philippine Beaches to Visit in 2016 which summarizes some of the top beaches I was able to visit since I started traveling.

It features some of the best and world-class beaches in the country proving the Philippines is a beach paradise.

I saw a video of you in a zipline with Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Jamie Herre.. Do you know her personally or nagkita kayo dun.. she looks very friendly.

Yes, she’s approachable and friendly. How we met and able to zipline together was funny. I was in Lake Sebu as a visitor and had no idea they were visiting and doing the zipline as well.

The organizers thought I was part of their photographer team upon seeing me holding a digital camera on a monopod (which they thought was a GoPro) while doing the first zipline.

Afterwards they invited me to join Jamie on the second zipline so they could document her doing it.

Only after the activity they realized I was not part of their group, but I didn’t mind it at all. In fact, I considered myself lucky.

Are you or the blog member of any travel blogger community? Facebook group or online groups?

I’ve been a member of Pinoy Travel Bloggers Facebook group.

Were are you able to learn new language/dialects.. or did it take you a while to learn it?

Not really but I consider myself multilingual being able to speak Filipino, English and Hiligaynon.

Scariest moment? What was the moment that happens that almost stopped your from traveling again?

I had some scary moments but none was scary enough to stop me from traveling.

For every trip you’ve made, were you able to taste their local food? Any strange thing you ate that’s memorable?

I think Tamilok in Palawan and Unagi (eel) in Japan.

What place is still on the top of your bucket list you have yet to crossed out? (Not sure if the To-Do list is in specific order or not)

Still in my bucket list for local places include Batanes, Malamawi Island in Basilan and Onuk Island in Balabac, Palawan.

Is there any particular place you’ve visited that you feel so at home that you were open in moving to that place?

I believe it’s Cebu since it has plenty of beaches and waterfalls, and it’s close to some of the great destinations like Siquijor and Bohol.

Do you have any advice or tips for aspiring travelers?

Travel as much as you can while you’re still young and able. Experience traveling solo once in a while and try DIY traveling by researching for information online such as travel blogs.

Apart from it can help you save a lot, you will appreciate the freedom of traveling on your own and with no fixed itinerary.

What has travel taught you?

Appreciation of the natural beauty of the country which includes the amazing beaches, waterfalls, culture and even its people.

Traveling solo has also taught me to become independent and the importance of self-reliance. It has taught me how to value the little things.
